Music Together® teachers Chandelle Arambula, Terrie Galacia and Lauren Wanke are passionate about music and the development of children. They create a fun, informal, nonjudgemental setting that spurs engagement and supports each child's musical development. Teachers Chandelle, Terrie and Lauren are thrilled to share the language of music with the families of Fresno and Clovis, and to give them the confidence to make music a part of their everyday lives!
Chandelle is originally from Wisconsin but has lived in California since 2004. She has a Masters in Education from Stanford University and spent nearly 10 years focusing on a career in university administration. She had always performed in choirs and in musical theater productions, but it was merely a hobby alongside her career. When her daughters were born she immediately enrolled in Music Together classes in the Bay Area as a way to bond with them and encourage their own musical development. In 2013, Her family relocated from the Bay Area to Fresno to be closer to her husband's family. She immediately enrolled in former director Jill Janzen's classes to continue her musical journey with daughters. Teacher Jill noticed how comfortable and happy Chandelle was in class, and encouraged her to go through teacher training. The rest, as they say, is history. In 2017 Teacher Chandelle became director of Music Together Fresno-Clovis. Chandelle lives with her husband Diego and her two children, Camila and Lola.
Terrie comes to Fresno from New Mexico and Hawaii, where she taught Music Together classes for many years. She is also a Board Certified Music Therapist with experience providing therapy services for a variety of ages, populations and special needs. Growing up in a family that valued instilling in her the love of music, Terries shares that passion to provide a musically rich environment that allows people of any age and ability to make, learn and enjoy music. Terrie lives with her husband Chris and her two children, Zoe and Josiah.
Lauren grew up around music with a singing mother, grandmother, and brother, and a trumpet-playing father. She has herself enjoyed singing from an early age, participating in church music, various choirs, and musical theatre. In 2003 she moved to Fresno, and subsequently earned a B.A. in English and a certificate in Child Development. While looking for an activity to do with her younger child, she remembered seeing a Music Together flyer and signed up for Teacher Chandelle's class. The music and program immediately resonated with her, and she appreciated the special time each week with her son. After about a year, she became interested in teaching and completed the teacher training in December 2018. Lauren lives with her husband Michael, and her two children, Jenna and Liam.
